So recently i have been receiving a lot of emails and phone calls regarding the radiofrequency ablation for heel pain. It is a procedure i love. it's very non-invasive and typically the patient is walking on the the next day. Most of these individuals who call me have done the steroid injections, often times surgery, the heel still hurts.
More and more i am getting the impression that a lot of the podiatrist who these individuals go to have a hard time " thinking outside the box" and looking at different causes of heel pain besides the plantar fascia. IF THE PAIN IN YOUR HEEL IS FARTHER BACK ON YOUR HEEL AND YOU FAIL TO RESPOND TO STEROID INJECTIONS, PHYSICAL THERAPY AND SOMETIMES SURGERY, MOST LIKELYOUR FOOT DOCTOR IS NOT LOOKING CLOSE ENOUGH. If you have a hard time finding a podiatrist who will do the RFA procedure try a physiatrist, another name for them is a Physical Medicine and Rehab specialist
