This picture tells it all.

Remember when you were a kid, you would ride a skateboard, crash, get some cuts and bruises and basically your body would heel the wounds for you.  Well, if our bodies can patch up the outside why can't it "patch up" the inside.  Unfortunately as Americans we eat sooo much crap, never think about how our obesity effects our health and go to our doctor saying, "give me pills to make me feel better." without evening thinking..."maybe its my fault i am soo sick." 
So now we as Americans have our "ball and chain" ..our medication.
