I want to get old gracefully. I want to have good posture, I want to be healthy and be an example to my children.

I had an interesting conversation with an employee at a hospital yesterday.  She said, "once i hit 40 i really got fat.."  my first thought was, "no, it wasn't your age, it was the lack of exercise and the hot dog in your hand that has done that."  She then said to me, "wait dr shippee, when  you turn 40 you too will get fat. " 
what on earth are we teaching each other, that as we get older being fat is normal...let me say this loud..BEING FAT IS NOT NORMAL, NOT EVEN AS WE AGE.
